Kelly Jo - The Actress

Kelly Jo Horton began acting at a young age. She had a supporting role in her first school play at the age of 10, and has been hooked ever since. In 6th grade she tried out for a small part in the play R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots) by Karel Capek, and landed the lead role of Helena Glory. Her first taste of film came when she was a featured extra in the Chuck Norris movie An Eye for an Eye when she was 18.

Kelly put acting on the back burner for almost 20 years while she worked on her college degree, raised a family and pursued her high tech career. The spark resurfaced again when she attended an improvisational comedy workshop at Comedy Sportz in Portland in 2002. She felt at home on the stage, and began performing there regularly on their “farm team,” quickly realizing she was right where she wanted to be.

Not one to sit back and rest on her laurels, Kelly then signed up for acting classes, signed with agent Ryan Artists in Portland, and began going out on auditions for films and commercials. After just five years in the industry, her credits include 35 indie films, and numerous industrial ads, print ads, and commercials.

Kelly is currently the Writer, Co-Producer and Host/Moderator of the To the Point! political talk show, which is co-produced by TVC-TV in Beaverton, Oregon. The show airs daily on Portland Metro Area cable. She is currently represented by OMM for all print, commercial and film work.
